Opportunity: Norman Rourke Pryme (NRP) is looking to appoint a talented Design Engineer (RIBA 1-3), specialising in transport, movement and streetscape, to play a key role in our growing, and highly regarded, traffic and transportation department. The role will involve leading on and managing a range of projects from transport studies, area wide strategies, and the development of designs ( RIBA Stage 1-3 designs) with a focus on public realm, and high streets and active travel improvements. Therefore, you can expect a range of project management, client and stakeholder relationship building, generating solutions and design ideas, data analysis and presentation, reporting, and design development. You will be supported by our existing team, providing technical expertise within the team, and contributing to the future growth of the business. NRP is currently engaged on a number of very high-profile and challenging projects for key clients and there would be the opportunity to become involved in these projects directly and play a pivotal role in their delivery. NRP specialise in developing active travel, public realm, traffic and transportation schemes and undertaking transport planning studies for public and private sector clients. Often the team are involved in the early vision and masterplanning stages to help develop a strategy from which design projects can be based. We have established a strong reputation for producing high quality schemes for a variety of purposes and have a good track record in developing innovative methodologies and solutions. Skills/ Qualifications: A good standard relevant degree, or a post graduate qualification in transport or a suitable level of professional experience to demonstrate capability. Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership. A good standard relevant degree, or a post graduate qualification in Civil Engineering or a suitable level of professional experience to demonstrate capability. A good skill level and experience designing highways using AutoCAD, with experience in signal junction design desirable. A working knowledge of industry guidance – TSRGD, Manual for Streets, LTNs etc. A good level of professional work experience with Highway Authorities, with London experience highly desirable. Experience of managing projects (staff resources, project budget, client liaison, check/review). Good written and spoken English. Outstanding attention to detail. Desirable: Stakeholder/public engagement Ability to lead others and mentor junior team members.
