Our nursing team is an integral part of our team taking the lead on QOF and Chronic Disease Management.
Main duties of the job
1. Supervision, teaching and mentoring of nursing assistants, student nurses & training practice nurses.
2. Provision of teenage health advice and travel advice.
3. Undertake immunisations, injections and vaccinations.
4. Provision of health checks for both newly registered patients and the over 75s.
5. Carry out screenings, e.g. lipids, blood pressure, cervical smears, etc.
6. Provision of support and assistance with clinics, e.g. diabetic, hypertension, asthma, menopause, warfarin, minor surgery, contraception etc.
7. Undertake ECG and Spirometry testing and cervical smear testing.
8. Venepuncture and the taking and preparing of pathology samples.
9. Provision of general nursing duties, e.g. dressings, etc.
10. The maintenance of health promotion literature and information for patients.
11. Management of medical supplies stock, including stock control.
12. The inputting of information onto the Practice clinical system.
13. Use of Practice clinical system for patient searches for clinics and patient recall.
14. Ensure that infection control procedures are followed.
15. The ongoing cleaning of clinical equipment and working surfaces.
16. The maintenance of treatment room equipment, including testing and recording.
17. Work safely at all times in accordance with Legislative requirements & Practice Policy & Procedures.
