As an Advisory Teacher for Looked After Children, you will work collaboratively with schools, carers, social workers, and other stakeholders to support the educational progress and well-being of children in care. Your role will involve providing expert advice, developing targeted interventions, and promoting high expectations to help Looked After Children achieve their full potential. About you We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with: Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Teacher Status with at least 5 years of teaching experience. Demonstrable experience working with Looked After Children and children with Special Educational Needs. Proven experience working in culturally diverse settings. Key Skills: Excellent communication skills-able to communicate politely, tactfully, and persuasively. Strong organisational skills to manage your own workload and support team priorities. The ability to analyse data and produce well-structured factual reports to inform interventions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other databases. Knowledge & Understanding: A deep understanding of child development, including trauma and attachment. Comprehensive knowledge of legislation and best practices related to supporting Looked After Children. A demonstrable commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and awareness of the needs and rights of children and young people. Additional Requirements Willingness and ability to make regular visits to Looked After Children in Luton and beyond the borough. Capability to transport children and adults between placements and educational bases when necessary.
