Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. As a Play Worker, you will create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children to play and learn. Your role will involve managing play activities, ensuring the well-being of children, and fostering positive relationships with both the children and their families.
Responsibilities
1. Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
2. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development.
3. Communicate effectively with children, encouraging them to express themselves and develop their social skills.
4. Manage behaviour in a positive manner, using effective strategies to promote good conduct among children.
5. Maintain a clean and organised play area, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition.
6. Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team environment focused on the children's best interests.
7. Provide support to parents and guardians by sharing insights about their child's development and activities.
Requirements
1. Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
2. A qualification in Early Childhood Education or related field is desirable but not mandatory.
3. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
4. Leadership qualities with the ability to manage groups of children effectively.
5. A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their development through play.
6. Ability to drive initiatives that enhance children's learning experiences through creative play activities but is not mandatory.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £11.60-£15.00 per hour
