The Nutrition and Dietetics Service at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is excited to recruit a clinical Specialist Dietitian in Gastroenterology/Oncology to work within our growing acute Nutrition and Dietetic services.
Our belief is that Dietitians, Nutrition Nurses, and support staff empower quality of life and bring independence and dignity to our service users.
The successful post-holder will work across the acute gastroenterology specialism within our nutrition and dietetics team; working with colleagues across the multi-disciplinary team to optimise the oral and enteral nutrition of people requiring complex nutrition support on the acute gastroenterology pathway.

We are looking for an innovative individual who is motivated by MDT working and keen to work in a growing specialist service for our diverse population. Candidates will be joining a service at a time of considerable opportunity. You will need to use highly developed interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with a range of key stakeholders working in a service that strongly aligns with our well-established Clinical Nurse Specialist service.
This post strongly aligns with the MDT and post registration dietetic experience in nutrition support and a genuine interest and enthusiasm to specialise in gastroenterology is essential. The department promotes a career-long commitment to learning and development; supporting clinical supervision, training, and development opportunities.
The Nutrition and Dietetics Department is a growing team of more than 40 members based across Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. We have regular departmental meetings and education meetings. We are strongly integrated with the speech and language therapy team and continued professional development is promoted and supported.
The Department trains student dietitians from Coventry and Birmingham City Universities across the full range of placements.
There is excellent administrative support, IT facilities, and access to modern Trust library facilities.
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS trust is located near major road and rail networks with easy access to Birmingham. There are a wide range of leisure facilities locally.
