Director, Global Brand Safety Standards Programme
About Us
IHG Hotels & Resorts is one of the world's leading hotel companies with around 350,000 colleagues working across more than 100 countries to deliver true hospitality for good. Our diverse portfolio of differentiated brands is well known and loved by millions of consumers around the world.
We genuinely care for our entire IHG Hotels & Resorts family. All our colleagues are valued, and their wellbeing matters to us. We provide the support our colleagues need to succeed and recognise them for their hard work.
In this role you will drive consistent and effective management of globally applicable Significant Risks related to health and safety and physical security across IHG's portfolio of properties by maintaining, improving - and engaging stakeholders on - IHG's Brand Safety Standards ("BSS") Programme and associated processes and content.
Your day to day
* Own IHG's published library of BSS (including Standards, Specifications, Guidelines and supporting documentation).
* Consult with stakeholders to routinely review IHG's health and safety and physical security ("S&S") risk experience, to ensure that the BSS Programme continues to provide meaningful control against an evolving suite of Significant Risks relating to S&S.
* Maintain an 'outside in' perspective; leveraging an understanding of prevailing external code and norms, as well as the practices of comparable organisations, in order to validate, challenge and refine the BSS Programme.
* Develop, maintain and own global materials relating to the BSS Programme, including risk evaluation materials (bow ties and risk registers), internal training materials and market facing materials that describe our approach to risk management (including for prospective Owners and B2B accounts).
* Devise and - through Regional BRR stakeholders - drive the implementation of effective processes to ensure that relevant BSS are applied across all lifecycle stages, and where relevant, exceptions processes (such as 'Alternative Means of Compliance') are subject to effective controls.
* Own the approach to global reporting on BSS processes; helping stakeholders to understand how the Programme is performing.
* Drive recurring opportunities for regional teams to share their experiences, challenges and solutions in relation to BSS-related matters; driving inter-region calibration and best practices.
* Work with relevant stakeholders to define and maintain proportionate assurance arrangements to demonstrate that the BSS Programme and associated processes continue to be executed as planned.
What we need from you
* Ability to create and champion business processes in a complex and multi-stakeholder environment.
* An analytical mindset: the ability to seek out insight and data that can drive decision making.
* Fluent in the built environment aspects of fire safety, health and safety and physical security.
* Fluent in operational aspects of fire safety, health and safety and physical security as might relate to a hospitality organisation.
* Substantial experience of leading technical projects with multiple stakeholders.
* Exceptional communicator.
