Transport Planner McBurney Transport wish to appoint a Transport Planner based in their Ballymena Office. The successful candidate will be required to Plan the daily operations of vehicles across the UK and Ireland whilst liaising with drivers, sub-contractors, and customers to ensure a high level of customer service is always maintained. The candidate will be expected to manage a large and diverse range of customers across a broad spectrum of industry within a busy transport environment therefore previous experience working in a transport environment is essential. This includes a sound knowledge of drivers hours regulations GV262, have a competent geographical knowledge of UK and Ireland as well as the general understanding of the operations of a road haulage company. A level 3 certificate of professional competence is a distinct advantage however it is not essential. Other desirable criteria/experiences include Experience with fresh, frozen and ambient goods movements including as just in time deliveries Good understand of drivers hours and general compliance within the transport industry Significant experience using telematic and transport software systems Able to manage own time to achieve daily targets in turn meeting customer requirements daily. Ability to work under ever changing circumstances on a day-to-day basis including making decisions under pressure Customer focused with high level of attention to detail Ability to communicate at all levels within the business. Internally between day and nightshift, clear instruction to drivers and directly with customers. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft excel and outlook Understanding of customs processes would be beneficial.
