Job Description
We would like to present you with an opportunity for a Customer Service Specialist to join our team in Heywood on a full time permanent basis!
Salary: £24,843 per annum
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
As a Customer Service Specialist you will be responsible for acting as the primary point of contact with customers. You will provide the link between customers and the Transport Planning function for the operational efficiency of the business.
Key Duties of a Customer Service Specialist:
* Arranging booking slots at depots and re-arranging delivery slots if required for late running loads.
* Contacting drivers for progress updates and revising times on TMS (Transport Management System) as necessary.
* Managing any rejections, taking instruction from customers for the handling of their stock and organising any return loads on TMS and with Transport Planning.
* Maintaining a timely flow of communication with customers by telephone, email and automated delivery reports.
* Reviewing and updating the Customer Services Outstanding Delivery Report.
* Contacting suppliers to obtain relevant paperwork in relation to any import shipments.
* Inputting customs references into shipping systems and recognising when errors arise.
* Advising customers of transport details, enabling them to raise accurate customs declarations.
* Processing Proof of Delivery documents (POD’s), checking all incidents have been reported and that the paperwork is stamped / signed correctly and scanning to TMS.
* Collating data and conducting preliminary investigations into incidents and report findings.
Qualifications
* Good understanding of the logistics environment, ideally with experience within a similar role.
* Excellent attention to detail with strong IT skills.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work both in a team and from own initiative without direct supervision.
* Excellent organisation and analytical skills.
* Flexible approach to work/training.
* Ability to effectively prioritise your workload to meet deadlines.
