This job description is for a Technical Manager position at a leading food manufacturing business near Pontypool. The company is looking for someone to ensure technical integrity and provide leadership within the technical department.
Technical Manager – Summary of Core Responsibilities:
* Manage customer and third-party audits to achieve and maintain accreditation standards, BRC A* grade.
* Act as key contact with customers and potential customers in all technical issues, including driving improvement plans and implementing outputs from risk assessments.
* Lead by example in encouraging appropriate behavioral standards in support of the company’s values and culture.
* Coach employees in the implementation and training of technical standards, systems, and procedures.
* Utilize best practices from around the business and outside bodies to influence and implement continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
Ideally, candidates should be educated to Degree or HND level in food science or a related discipline, with Technical Management or Quality Management experience from the food industry. Experience building relationships with key retailers such as M&S, Tesco, Waitrose, and Sainsbury’s is preferred. Level 3 Food Safety and Level 3 HACCP certifications are ideal.
