Are you passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives? Do you have experience in providing high-quality care and support to vulnerable adults? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team at West Berkshire Council as a Residential Care Officer.
As a Residential Care Officer, you will report to the Unit Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents. You will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing the team of Care Practitioners and ensuring the safe and smooth operation of the shift
2. Assisting with daily activities, promoting independence and maintaining a safe environment - this includes undertaking medication administration.
3. Building positive relationships with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals
4. Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care planning and reviews
To excel in this role, you should have:
1. Previous experience in a similar care role, ideally within a care home setting
2. A compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to help others
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently
5. A flexible approach to work, including availability for shift work and occasional weekends
