As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Compliance Technology, Corporate Sector, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
* Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
* Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
* Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
* Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
* Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
* Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
* Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
* Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
* Proficient in coding full stack Java application including frameworks like Spring, Sprint Boot, JPA, Java 11 features, REST services
* Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment and database systems like Oracle/MySQL
* Experience in modern front-end frameworks like ReactJS, Angular etc
* Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
* Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
* Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Exposure to Testing frameworks and Test Drive Development
* Understanding and knowledge of Data Engineering/Analytics, NLP and Machine Learning
* Exposure to cloud technologies

The Cybersecurity & Technology Controls group at JPMorgan Chase aligns the firm's cybersecurity, access management, controls and resiliency teams. The group proactively and strategically partners with all lines of business and functions to enable them to design, adopt and integrate appropriate controls; deliver processes and solutions efficiently and consistently; and drive automation of controls. The group's number one priority is to enable the business by keeping the firm safe, stable and resilient.
High Risk Roles (HRR) are sensitive roles within the technology organization that require high assurance of the integrity of staff by virtue of 1) sensitive cybersecurity and technology functions they perform within systems or 2) information they receive regarding sensitive cybersecurity or technology matters.
