Private Dining and Events Manager
At KOL, part of the MJMK group, we source and celebrate the finest expressions of British ingredients, championing wild food and seasonality to create dishes that reflect the bright, fresh flavours of Mexican cooking. The kitchen team is headed up by Chef Patron Santiago Lastra and was awarded a Michelin star in 2022, followed by being named 23rd in the World’s 50 Best in 2023, and 17th in 2024. Respect and understanding are central to our work. Before ingredients and dishes, we invest in the people and producers who trust us to represent their culture and traditions and our team also reflects this. As KOL continues its success, we’re looking for a Private Dining and Events Manager to join the team, who will be responsible for our Chef’s Table and Mezcaleria events spaces, both proactively seeking out new clients and converting enquiries into repeat business.
As a Private Dining and Events Manager at KOL, we can offer you:
1. One-year fixed term contract (maternity cover)
2. Basic salary package up to £40,000 per year
3. Commission up to £20,000 per year, paid quarterly
4. 50% staff discount across all MJMK Restaurants
5. Up to £500 team referral bonus
6. Opportunity to develop your career with MJMK as we expand
7. Mental health and well-being assistance with Hospitality Action who can offer free advice and counselling if you’re struggling at work or at home
8. Enhanced maternity and paternity pay, after your first year with us
9. An extra day’s holiday every year you’re with us
10. An enhanced pension plan and the opportunity to take a sabbatical for a month, with two weeks paid by MJMK, after you’ve worked with us for 5 years
A KOL Private Dining and Events Manager is:
1. A natural, hands-on leader who loves generating and driving sales, through maintaining and strengthening existing relationships, whilst also building new relationships, both in the UK and internationally.
2. An enthusiastic and proactive individual, who is happy to take full responsibility for events and sales across the Chef’s Table and KOL Mezcaleria, whilst also supporting the reservations team where necessary.
3. Passionate and knowledgeable about great food, wine and hospitality, especially in the World’s 50 Best scene.
4. Commercially aware and able to proactively drive new sales opportunities as well as being the first point of contact for all bookings and enquiries.
5. A creative thinker who thrives on organising unforgettable dining experiences, from corporate Chef’s Table gatherings to lively Mezcaleria events.
6. A people person who builds genuine connections with guests, ensuring every event is personal and tailored, while constantly attracting new business.
7. Excited to collaborate with the kitchen, bar, and front of house teams to create seamless events that reflect KOL’s unique approach to hospitality.
8. Available to work Monday – Friday, based in KOL, but flexible with evening and weekend work where necessary to support events.
We’d love to hear from you if you’re an experienced Private Dining and Events Manager and you’re up for a new challenge and the opportunity to work alongside Santiago Lastra.
