Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland. Most people donât think too much about how clean water reaches their taps. Or what happens to their wastewater. But we do. In fact, itâs all we think about. Want to join us? Scottish Water Horizons is looking for a new Workflow Administrator to join our Third Party Waste team. This is a permanent role based at Deerdykes in Cumbernauld (although the base location will soon move to our office in Stepps). Due to the nature of the job, this will be an office-based position. What youâll do As a Workflow Administrator, youâll be involved in a variety of tasks, including weighbridge operations, reception duties, transport scheduling, and processing financial data. Youâll be responsible for ensuring waste is booked in correctly and that data is accurately inputted into the Avery system for invoicing. Youâll handle purchase orders and receipting within FAB, prepare and issue delivery schedules, and work closely with our haulage suppliers to maintain high service levels for our customers. Other responsibilities include SEPA reporting, operating and maintaining the Tidon logger system, and taking part in framework procurement. Youâll also develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external customers, update customer data in the CRM system, and handle general reception duties. This role can be challenging, as youâll often need to make decisions, take ownership of delivery schedules, and manage transport effectively. However, youâll be supported by the Third Party Waste team and have opportunities to enhance your technical and interpersonal skills by working with various teams across Scottish Water, including operations, finance, and external suppliers. What youâll need Weâre looking for someone with experience operating a weighbridge, good analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to plan and prioritise effectively. Financial management experience (FAB) is a must, as is the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers. Youâll need to be comfortable using Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, and Outlook, and you should be open to learning new systems such as Power BI and Tidon. It would be a bonus if you have experience in finance, wastewater, or transport scheduling. Working hours: This is a job share role, and youâll be working Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be times when youâll need to work additional days to cover for holidays or public holidays. Looking out for you While the work we do is important, we know itâs not the only thing that matters. Thatâs why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance. Youâll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community. When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working. For your future, thereâs our pension (the âknow-what-youâll-get-when-you-retireâ kind), as well as life assurance. As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash â handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping. The not-so-small print This role will be a Grade 3. If youâre new to Scottish Water, youâll join us on a starting salary of £25,980. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £30,000. If youâre interested in this role â or know someone else who might be - weâll be accepting applications until midnight on the 5th of February 2025. Job offers at Scottish Water are conditional, and will be confirmed on completion of our pre-employment screening, e.g. referencing, criminal record checks, license checks, etc. Screening is conducted on our behalf by a third party, and must be completed before your start date. Donât worry - weâll only start these checks once youâve accepted an offer.⯠A few final things worth knowing⦠ Research shows that some people avoid applying for jobs unless they can meet every single criteria. If you join us, your home address will need to be in Scotland.
