Miller & Swann (Elgin)
Do you enjoy leading and supporting a team? Are you an experienced RVN looking to step into a Head Nurse role, or perhaps you are already in a leadership role and looking for a new challenge?
Miller & Swann Vets in Elgin, a small and friendly single site practice, are looking for an experienced Nurse to join us as Head Veterinary Nurse to lead our team on a day-to-day basis.
As Head Nurse you will lead and support a fantastic team of Nurses and receptionists. The role includes responsibility for maintaining practice standards including clinical governance, practice standards scheme, nurse clinics/campaigns, stock and rota management, as well as driving practice initiatives and being part of the clinical rota.
This role would suit someone who has excellent clinical standards, is adaptable to change, and is willing to face new challenges. We are ideally looking for someone with previous experience of leading a team, but will consider a confident Nurse who is looking to take that next step in their career.
Where are we: Elgin lies on the south coast of the Moray Firth in Scotland, roughly midway between Inverness and Aberdeen. Known as the ‘whiskey region,' there are many local distilleries, a cathedral (once classed as Scotland's most beautiful cathedrals) close to sandy beaches and relatively nearby to some major cities (36 miles to Inverness and 57 miles northwest to Aberdeen). In Elgin, you are well connected with regular trains and a 1-hour drive to the beautiful Cairngorms and only a few minutes from the coast. There are a great variety of primary and secondary schools to choose from in this area too!
This is a full-time position, with a requirement to work a share of the weekend and on-call rota. Salary is dependent on experience. As different things are important to different people at different times in their professional lives, we offer flexibility to our colleagues in their benefits packages, depending on the role.
