Your Role You are responsible for the operational planning and delivery of our camps on a daily basis, including the safe and efficient set up and maintenance of the estate site. Typical duties include: Manage an estate team including a Recruitment and Course Coordinator and Runner(s)/Maintenance Manage the day to day running and logistics of the estate, including deliveries and maintenance to ensure all camps are well-stocked with required food and equipment, bins, portable toilets and gas bottles Manage and monitor the cleaning, checking and maintenance of estate vehicles Manage, support and inspire Camp Leaders, Tribe Leaders and Field Cooks, providing feedback where necessary Co-ordinate staff including proactive future shifting and reactive on-the-day reshuffling to account for sickness and absence Manage central kitchen staff and coordinate food deliveries, purchases and compliance Act as the first point of contact for any staff or teacher complaints Maintain working relationships with the Estate team, i.e. Head of Estate, Forestry Manager, and with external contractors Organise, track and coordinate all estate purchases as well as ensuring bulk orders or equipment replacements are requested in a timely manner Organise an on-site training team to contribute to and facilitate a centrally designed training syllabus Ensure appropriate training courses and planned and delivered in a timely manner according to recruitment cycles Deliver Safeguarding training Act as Safeguarding Lead for the estate, ensuring any incidents are dealt with in line with Safeguarding Policy Act as Health and Safety Lead for the estate, ensuring any incidents are dealt with in line with Health & Safety Policy Ensure all Accidents and Incidents are recorded in accordance with Health & Safety processes. Monitor and advise on all first aid incidents. Coordinate hospital runs. Communicate any estate issues to senior managers daily Maintain consistent high standards of delivery, staff and the estate environment Person Specification To be successful in this role, you need to: Have a full UK driving licence Have a proven track record in an operational role Be a strong people manager ideally with an understanding of the challenges of training and development of seasonal staff Be highly organised and able to ensure relevant paperwork is completely effectively Be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including, children, teachers, staff, contractors and senior management Be self-motivated with both the discipline and the positive can-do attitude required to effectively manage your workload whilst out on camp Be tenacious – because peak season will get busy - with a resilience and determination to get the job done Be prepared to get stuck in and be part of a strong, close-knit team bonded by our shared appreciation of the Company and its values.
