Exciting opportunity to join a great team within the Older Persons Mental Health Services on Suite 2 Tonna Hospital.
The ward is a dementia assessment ward with organic Mental Health illnesses.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to function as a member of the multidisciplinary team, assess individual patients' care needs and subsequently develop, implement and evaluate appropriate programmes of care, acting as Care Co-ordinator for specified patients. They will allocate duties to nursing staff during their span of duty in charge of the ward. The role will include the supervision and instruction of unqualified and junior members of nursing staff.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Knowledge
* Registered Nurse (e.g. MH or LD)
* Clear understanding of consent process
* Evidence of post registration study and training, e.g. POVA
* Child/Adult Protection
* Intermediate Life Support if required in clinical setting
Experience
* Experience of providing holistic nursing care
* Clear understanding of clinical governance framework
* Implement evidence-based practice
Aptitude and abilities
* Able to demonstrate situations where effective leadership and management skills
* Be able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others, or: Evidence of undertaking presentation to groups.
* Ability to work under pressure
* Clear understanding of contract of care
* Ability to document details clearly and accurately and have IT skills
* Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh

* Ability to travel within geographical area.
* Able to work hours flexibly.
