As our Clinical Governance Lead at Wessex Hospital, you will provide strong clinical leadership and oversight of all matters related to the quality of clinical care delivery. This role involves working alongside Senior Clinical Leaders and key stakeholders to facilitate clinical excellence and fulfill Nuffield Health’s charitable purpose.
You will be a registered Clinician (NMC, HCPC, or GPC), educated to degree or postgraduate level in a clinical discipline, with relevant qualifications in organizational governance (e.g., ISO9001 Auditor or equivalent). We seek someone with senior healthcare leadership experience, particularly in clinical governance and quality assurance, with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and proactive, efficient working habits.
As our Clinical Governance Lead, you will:
* Champion the organisation’s brand values.
* Drive continuous improvement in:
o Data quality and data analysis capabilities
o Reporting and escalation processes, including Board and Incident Reporting, to guide quality learning and decision-making.
* Collaborate with Senior Clinical and Medical Leaders to deliver Quality Assurance and improvement activities, supporting clinical effectiveness, patient safety, regulatory compliance, customer feedback, and professional development.
* Lead the development, review, and oversight of Clinical Policies and SOPs, ensuring effective management of the clinical policy catalogue.
* Provide advice, guidance, and expertise on governance processes, including handling complaints.
* Support the maintenance and achievement of clinical and organizational accreditation (e.g., ISO9001), facilitating successful certification.
* Contribute to the delivery of Nuffield Health’s Quality Improvement Plan, leading clinical projects and workstreams within your remit.
* As a subject matter expert, participate in strategic negotiations related to clinical governance and quality assurance to support commercial objectives.

Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital is a modern 46-bed private hospital in West Hampshire, specializing in Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Urology, Women’s Health, and Spinal Surgery. The hospital features onsite Radiology, Pathology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and Hydrotherapy services, offering comprehensive care. Facilities include 16 outpatient consultation rooms, 46 private patient bedrooms with en-suite facilities, 24-hour resident doctor on-site, four operating theatres, and an endoscopy suite.
