Your Role as a HR and Vetting Assistant
As an HR and Vetting Assistant at HMP Peterborough and HMP Bronzefield, you will be a vital part of the HR team, ensuring smooth and efficient administrative processes. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining HR records, processing employee data, and supporting with month-end HR reporting. A key aspect of your role will involve handling general HR queries, directing employees and managers to the appropriate services, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and GDPR regulations.
You will also provide essential support for recruitment and vetting processes, assisting with interview assessments, new starter set-ups, and compliance checks. Additionally, you will coordinate HR-related meetings, take minutes during disciplinary proceedings, and oversee the administration of key documents, including absence records, payroll changes, and employee lifecycle data.
Your role will require strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with managers and employees, ensuring that all HR documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and processed in a timely manner.
The Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience in an administrative role within a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* IT competency, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
* High accuracy and attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
* Professionalism and resilience.
* Previous experience in an HR-related role.
* Experience using SAP (HR).
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
