Key Responsibilities:
Support Health and Safety Procedures:
* Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
* Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
* Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Incident Reporting and Investigation:
* Support the investigation of workplace accidents and incidents, ensuring that proper documentation is maintained.
* Assist in the preparation of reports following incidents, including recommendations to prevent recurrence.
* Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety inspections.
Training and Awareness:
* Assist in the development and delivery of health and safety training programs for employees.
* Promote health and safety awareness throughout the organisation by organising training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns.
* Ensure all employees are aware of their health and safety responsibilities.
Regulatory Compliance:
* Stay updated on relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and industry best practices.
* Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
* Assist in preparing for external audits and inspections.
Administrative Support:
* Maintain and update health and safety records, including risk assessments, safety audits, and training logs.
* Prepare and distribute health and safety documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident reports.
* Provide general administrative support to the Health and Safety Manager.
Emergency Preparedness:
* Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
* Participate in emergency drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.
* Support the coordination of first aid training and ensure that first aid kits are adequately stocked.
Qualifications:
Experience:
* 1-2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the energy sector or a similar industry.
* Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and delivering safety training.
* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
Skills:
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
