Derbyshire County Council have an exciting Housekeeper opportunity to join an experienced and supportive team at Spire Lodge. Spire Lodge is a 6 bedded short break service based in North East Derbyshire and situated close to Chesterfield town centre. We provide an Ofsted Outstanding graded service for young people aged between 8 and 17 years who may have a physical disability, moderate to severe learning disability, an autistic spectrum condition or sensory impairment. The Spire Lodge team prides themselves in their commitment and child centred approach to the young people they care for.
What will you be doing?
As Housekeeper your role will be split over 2 areas – kitchen and cleaning of the building. To carry out the role effectively you will need to Be a warm, friendly, and approachable member of the team. To be able effectively communicate with managers, team members, young people, and their families.
Your responsibilities within the day-to-day management of the kitchen will include:
1. food preparation,
2. cooking,
3. allergen compliance,
4. meeting individual dietary and cultural requirements,
5. nutrition and portion control
6. planning menus
7. ordering food
8. stock control
9. performing clerical duties
10. Safe hygiene practices
Your responsibilities within the day-to-day management of the building will include:
11. Having cleaning skills and COSHH awareness,
12. Use of cleaning and laundry equipment
13. General day to day cleaning,
14. Deep cleaning when required,
15. Basic textile skills

This post will include weekend and bank holiday working, as well as attendance at team meetings
