The Amesbury Community Team are looking for an inspirational Physiotherapist to deliver a high standard of quality care to patients within the community setting. Wiltshire Health and Care is proactive in developing community specific training and can offer a supportive and friendly environment in which to learn new skills. You will be responsible for providing highly skilled therapy care to the residents within our geographical area, promoting the health of the population, reducing the effects of ill health and disability and maximising the individual’s potential for independence. You will be expected to work closely with General Practices, Social Services and other statutory and non-statutory services to meet the needs of the local population, so excellent communication skills are essential for this role. As well as bringing your clinical expertise, you will be a champion of integrated community care. You will be a strong team player, an excellent communicator who is adaptable, committed, organised and able to work well under pressure. You will support the development, implementation and maintenance of high quality safe and sustainable clinical and operational leadership under the direction of the team leaders and clinical lead. The therapy team are expected to cover planned and urgent occupational therapy and physiotherapy assessments and treatment as well as supporting the Home First, discharge to assess pathway. Participation in the weekend therapy rota will also be required. We cover a large geographical area so access to a vehicle to travel to visit patients is essential. We work a 7 day shift pattern from 08.30 – 16.30. For this post it is essential that you can drive and have access to a car.

The Ideal Candidate
1. MCSP Dip PT / BSc / BSc(Hons) PT / MSc Physiotherapist
2. Registered as a Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professionals Council
3. Relevant Post graduate qualification
4. Teaching and assessing in clinical practice
5. To possess a current, valid driving licence and to be a competent driver
6. Evidence of continuing professional development
7. Knowledge of legislation affecting professional practice
8. Up to date community experience
9. Case management experience
10. Experience of working with adults
11. Working with a multi-disciplinary team
12. Leadership experience
13. Teaching experience
14. Knowledge of recruitment, selection & appraisal system
15. Setting and monitoring standards of care
16. Experience within a wide range of patient/client care groups
17. To be able to communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds
18. To be able to work flexibly and sensitively
19. Wide range of interpersonal and communication skills
20. Competence in a wide range of physiotherapy skills
21. I.T. literate
22. Skills in preparing and presenting teaching sessions
23. Undertake specific physiotherapy tasks requiring precision and/or intense concentration. Undertaking complex physiotherapy skills
24. Manual handling skills and experience
25. Ability to sensitively inform service users on complex and distressing Issues, able to support and facilitate staff in dealing with these
