Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this position is 9am-5pm.
An opportunity has arisen for a First Level Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the SOUTHADRS Team. An RMN Qualification would be advantageous. The post holder is responsible for managing their own community caseload under supervision of NTL. The post holder provides a service to a defined geographical area for patients who are experiencing addiction problems who may be vulnerable and who may have complex health and social care needs.
The post holder has a key role in promoting and developing the role of the Community Addictions Nurse. The post holder has an important role in supporting practice education of student nurses and will play a key part in delivering integrated addiction services within the Glasgow Alcohol Drug and Recovery services across South Glasgow Sector. Caring is fundamental to nursing services and to all nursing functions. The core values of nursing must underpin the practice of every nurse and drive care that promotes positive and equitable engagement with patients, families and carers as the central focus of practice.
The Senior Addiction Nurse will assume a leadership role in the development of services and will provide clinical and management supervision ensuring that high standards of patient care are maintained and that staff are trained, developed and supported to fulfil their role.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde encourages applications from all sections of the community. We promote a culture of inclusion across the organisation and are proud of the diverse workforce we have.
By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, NHSGGC has pledged its commitment to being a Forces Friendly Employer. We support applications from across the Armed Forces Community, recognising military skills, experience and qualifications during the recruitment and selection process.
