Are you an experienced Associate Solicitor ready to make an impact in risk and compliance? This highly regarded Top 100 Commercial Law Firm is looking for a skilled professional to join their expanding compliance team in either Southampton or Bristol, offering a competitive salary of £60,000–£70,000.
About the Role
As an essential member of the Business Excellence team, this position will make you the go-to contact for all compliance and risk-related matters. Working closely with the Executive Director of Risk & Compliance, and in coordination with the General Risk Counsel, you’ll take on responsibilities that include:
* Serving as the main point of reference on compliance issues, such as Codes of Conduct, client care, conflicts, confidentiality, AML, and high-risk third-country due diligence.
* Maintaining the firm’s regulatory breach register, advising on responses, and ensuring implementation of remedial actions.
* Overseeing business acceptance and file-opening processes, including electronic PEP and sanctions checks.
* Drafting, implementing, and enforcing compliance policies and procedures across the firm.
* Leading internal audits and follow-up activities to uphold rigorous quality standards.
* Assisting with client questionnaires and compliance-related aspects of tenders.
* Continually improving risk and compliance practices, with potential to step into the Deputy MLRO role.
About You
Ideal candidates will have:
* 2–8 years PQE as a solicitor with robust knowledge of AML, SRA Codes of Conduct, and related regulations.
* Strong analytical, drafting, and judgment skills, with a commercial and pragmatic approach.
* Effective, team-oriented communication that instills confidence in both colleagues and clients.
* A service-focused mindset, resilience, and an energetic approach to enhancing risk management across the firm.
