Currently working with a leading automotive business based in Walsall looking for a Maintenance Engineer from an apprentice trained background who has worked on CNC machines and has experience with other assembly machines.
This role involves leading a small team of Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineers and focuses on guidance and technical leadership rather than man management.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
2. Health and safety responsibility for area, personnel, and contractors.
3. Carry out H&S audits and risk assessments in line with Company procedures.
4. Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards & all other Company policies and procedures.
5. Regularly check the status of team activities to ensure timely progress on open issues and projects.
6. Co-operate and support all maintenance activities to meet overall department objectives.
7. Responsible for the 5S to the agreed standards in the agreed areas of responsibility.
8. Lead maintenance regarding factory-based improvement projects.
9. Promote and cultivate a team environment based on openness, mutual respect, and collaborative working.
10. Provide support for Maintenance prevention activities.
11. Lead and support the TPM/PPM follow-up activities to ensure timely close out.
12. Maintain a flexible approach to support other Maintenance supervision roles when requested.
13. Organise the team and understand production priorities to minimise response times.
14. Liaise with suppliers and manage on-site contractors and service engineers.
15. Maintain regular and professional communications with other departments.
16. Take the lead role for fire damage control in the event of a fire.
17. Provide reports and maintain agreed KPI's.
18. Ensure Team members are fully tasked at all times.
19. Lead by example by promoting a positive and 'can-do' attitude.
20. Manage the machine spares testing process.
21. Work on breakdowns when required.
22. Use SAP or other IT tools to plan and document all activities.
23. Undertake any other reasonable requests by the Company.
