Thornton Tomasetti is looking for an IT Technician with a broad technical skillset, excellent communication skills and the ability to work and collaborate with the wider IT Team.
This on-site role includes a mix of desktop support, IT Infrastructure support and system administration, ensuring availability of the local IT Infrastructure and the protection of core assets and systems delivering essential functions at our Edinburgh (Dalgety Bay) location.

Responsibilities
1. Provide friendly, first- and second-level technical support to local office and remote users, ensuring timely resolution of end-user issues
2. Maintain accreditation document set, including policies, procedures and security instructions
3. Ensure smooth running of local network and infrastructure, ensuring that all devices are patched, up-to-date and complaint.
4. monitoring and troubleshooting of backup solution and testing of Disaster Recovery processes
5. Maintain asset register and carry out annual audit checks.
6. Responsible for all local system administration related to network and server infrastructure.
7. Contribute to service desk knowledgebase and documentation as needed.
8. Assist with the administration of our UK SharePoint environment
9. Collaborate with business and IT management to continuously improve the IT Environment and capture new requirements for IT projects and initiatives
Requirements
10. Excellent technical knowledge of Dell computer and Server hardware
11. Broad knowledge of LAN, WAN, Wireless, Security and Software Deployment technologies
12. Knowledge of server and storage-based virtualization technologies
13. A Defence or Government background would be advantageous.
14. Some UK and international travel as required
Qualifications
15. Diploma or university degree in Computing or equivalent experience.
16. Professional IT certifications such as CompTIA Security+, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA.
17. The successful candidate will need to obtain UK Security clearance.
