We're a national law firm with a local reach. Our philosophy is 'we're legal and financial experts that care' - something you'll find in the way we work with our clients and how we support our teams. But we're more than just a law firm - we're a team of people working together to help individuals and businesses navigate life's ups and downs. Working here you'll feel a part of our friendly and inclusive environment.
We'll value you for who you are and what you bring. We support each other and push boundaries to achieve incredible things and make a real difference to our clients and communities.
Our Team
As the leading clinical and medical negligence law firm in the UK, we know how to make a positive difference to our clients' lives. Our experienced medical negligence solicitors take the time to understand what clients are going through, helping them get the answers and compensation they deserve. Our clinical negligence team has extensive experience in clinical negligence claims arising from NHS and private treatment on behalf of children and adults.
Our solicitors have years of experience making a variety of medical negligence cases including but not limited to:
* Brain injury claims including stroke
* Spinal injury and amputation claims
* Delay in diagnosis of cancer
* Cerebral Palsy claims
* Fatal accidents and inquests
Your Role and What You'll Be Doing
You'll provide quality legal advice to the firm's clients under appropriate supervision and training, managing your own high-quality caseload from the outset. Your aim will be to obtain interim payments wherever possible, so that we can put rehabilitation, a care package and suitable accommodation in place before the claim is concluded. As a team, we are dedicated to improving the quality of life of our clients.
You will join Partner Guy Forster, head of Medical Negligence in our Cambridge office, who has specialised in clinical negligence cases since qualifying as a solicitor and acts on behalf of clients who've suffered serious injury. Guy recovers substantial amounts of compensation for his clients to fund care, therapies and other needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Taking instructions from clients and giving legal advice.
* Managing your own caseload, while also assisting the Partners and senior team members on High Value cases.
* Reviewing cases and other relevant matters with your supervisor to ensure quality legal advice is provided.
About You
* Strong background in medical negligence.
* The successful candidate is required to have a track record or the skills necessary to get involved with business development to engage effectively with our existing networks and build new relationships.
* Highly organised.
* Commercial awareness.
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
* Ability to work in a pressurised environment.
Our Benefits - What We Can Offer You
* 25 days holidays as standard plus bank holidays - You can 'buy' up to 35hrs of extra holiday too.
* Generous and flexible pension schemes.
* Volunteering days - Two days of volunteering every year for a cause of your choice (fully paid).

We also offer a wide range of well-being initiatives to encourage positive mental health both in and out of the workplace and to make sure you're fully supported. This includes our Flexible by Choice programme which gives our colleagues more choice over a hybrid way of working subject to role, team and client requirements.
We have been ranked in the Best Workplaces for Wellbeing for Large Organisations for 2024!
