Blanco Niño is a rapidly growing, award winning, premium Mexican food brand known for exceptional quality, traditional cooking methods and its advocation and trailblazing of regenerative farming practices.
The business sells a foodservice (B2B) offering across 19 European markets and the Middle East, and a retail (B2B + B2C) offering across 5 European markets. The major focus markets being UK and Ireland for the retail offering, with significant opportunity across the European continent for business expansion utilising the existing distribution network. There is also a small D2C revenue stream from the company website.
The company’s mission statement is ‘To produce Mexican food products that make us proud and accelerate the transition to generative farming in the process’.
The business is in a high growth phase with sales almost doubling year on year in 2024, with sales growth is forecast to accelerate further into 2025 and beyond. The business launched into Coop in the UK in July, Sainsbury’s in September and Waitrose in May 2025, with a number of other major partners in the pipeline along with new product development.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated National Account Manager (NAM) to join our team and drive growth within the UK Grocery market. You’ll take ownership of managing and growing key grocery accounts including Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, with full P&L responsibility. Reporting directly to the Head of Grocery, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving sales performance, optimising profitability, and ensuring strong relationships with our retail partners. This is a unique opportunity to really make a true impact on Blanco Niño’s success; having only launched into Grocery in July last year we have so much growth to go after and new accounts such as Tesco to unlock. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of and existing relationships within the Grocery market and a proven track record of success.
The current team is made up of a Head of Grocery, a Business Development Manager and we are in the process of hiring a Sales Executive. You will be reporting into the Head of Grocery and collectively as a team you are responsible for driving the highly ambitious growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management & Strategic Planning and Execution:
* Create annual account plans to drive ambitious sales growth; identifying opportunities for revenue expansion within existing accounts, and actively pursue new business opportunities within the grocery industry.
* Lead contract negotiations with national grocery chains, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with both customer needs and company objectives.
* Execute plans for key national grocery accounts including implementing promotional plans, securing NPD opportunities, secondary space and in store activations.
Forecasting and Reporting:
* Owning your sales forecast, trade spend and create a plan to exceed the agreed annual plan (volume, revenue, GP, GM%).
* Monitor sales performance, track key metrics, and prepare regular reports on account status, sales progress, and market trends.
* Provide actionable recommendations with a clear understanding of financial impacts.
Customer Collaboration:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for key national grocery accounts, managing and nurturing relationships to ensure long-term partnership success.
* Building relationships with teams beyond our buyers to ensure the best collaboration; understanding needs, developing tailored business plans leveraging Category Management, Shopper Insights, Media Planning and Pricing strategies.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
* Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, supply chain, and product development teams to ensure alignment and timely execution of strategies.
* Forecasting effectively with operations and finance to ensure effective fulfilment.
