Attendance and Administrative Officer
Permanent, 37 hours per week
Term Time Only plus one week (40 weeks)
Actual salary: £23,615 to £25,982 p.a.
Grade D - £26,918 to £29,616 per annum (FTE)
(Starting position within range is dependent on experience and skills)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hardworking, innovative and team player to join our Administration Department. This is a new role that we are looking to create due to the number of pupils on roll increasing.
Key roles and responsibilities for the Attendance and Administrative Officer position include:
1. Monitoring the attendance of pupils in Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11), to include:
* Following up absences to seek reasons and recording appropriately
* Sharing attendance information with School leaders, Middle leaders, tutors and parents
* Assisting in developing strategies to improve pupil attendance
* Supporting the preparation of Attendance Legal Panels
* Monitoring and reporting to missing in Education thresholds highlighting pupils at risk and informing Safeguarding Leads
* Issuing Fixed Penalty Notice
* Being a key home/school communication link dealing with queries from parents and offering support and guidance as appropriate
1. Wider Administrative Officer roles may also include:
* Managing our website as the ‘shop window’ to the school – keeping it up-to-date, relevant and compliant with all legal requirements.
* Supporting the Deputy Headteacher with the timetabling/options process, Nova and SIMS and administering staffing and rooming changes as advised.
* Supporting the Data Protection Officer and ensuring that the school complies with all GPDR requirements.
* Supporting Pupil Reception.
* Becoming knowledgeable across other roles in the Admin Office, including absence reporting and monitoring of staff and pupils, recruitment, and use of data, reporting and exam process.
* Communicating with external agencies, parents, and pupils.
GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English and mathematics is essential.
The postholder will also be responsible for fulfilling the safeguarding requirements of the role and adhering to the school’s safeguarding policy.
