The Role
Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking a Learning and Development Advisor to join our People team at our Walton Summit Office. This role is full time, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of hybrid working.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Learning and Development Professional to bring their experience, skills and knowledge to become a part of a collaborative and professional team within the Legal Sector. While the role demands the fast pace, customer focus, and high standards of a law firm, it also ensures a sustainable work-life balance, reflecting the regional area it serves.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for achieving successful outcomes such as:
* Design and deliver engaging learning and development initiatives, including workshops, e-learning modules, and virtual training sessions, focused on practical, advisory, management, and leadership skills.
* Collaborate with People and IT Training teams to support the delivery of an effective and consistent onboarding experience.
* Conduct annual training needs analyses to identify skill gaps and ensure development initiatives align with the Firm’s strategic objectives.
* Support Senior People Business Partners in designing internal learning interventions and identifying suitable external learning solutions.
* Work closely with IT to plan and deliver training for new and updated systems, including LMS-related developments.
* Manage the assignment and tracking of learning pathways to ensure timely completion of all required and compliance-based training.
* Ensure accurate and up-to-date learning records are maintained within the LMS, reflecting individual job role requirements.
* Liaise with LMS providers and internal IT to support system changes and enhancements.
* Produce regular L&D reports and briefing materials in line with the agreed reporting framework.
* Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of learning initiatives using data, feedback, and performance metrics.
* Advise managers on development opportunities and support the creation of career pathways within the Firm.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Firm’s learning offering through ongoing collaboration, professional development, and market awareness.
The Person
We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on their demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skills in:
* proficiency in planning, designing, and delivering innovative learning solutions that cater to various learning styles and leverage multiple approaches, is essential;
* ability to manage L&D projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and within-budget implementation, is essential;
* demonstrable experience in researching, preparing and delivering learning and development training sessions, is essential;
* previous experience of conducting training needs analyses and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs, is essential;
* previous experience with e-learning platforms and virtual training tools, enabling the delivery of effective digital learning experiences, is desirable:
* aligns with the Firms values;
* have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills;
* have the ability to work as part of a team;
* have strong commercial awareness;
* have proven competence in their IT skills (Outlook, Word, and other systems experience);
* have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
* have an interest in long term development/progression in the department;
