Overview: We are looking for a proactive and versatile Facilities Maintenance Specialist to ensure our West Sussex sites operate smoothly. This role combines hands-on maintenance with strategic oversight, making it perfect for someone with strong DIY skills and a solid understanding of plumbing and electrical systems. A valid driving licence and personal vehicle are essential, as travel between sites is a key component of the role. Key Responsibilities: Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine PPM tasks on equipment such as generators, compressors, air conditioning, and air quality systems. Complete monthly safety checks (fire extinguishers, emergency lights/exits, call points, water temperatures, first aid, ladder safety, etc.). Facilities Management & Repairs: Manage the Facilities Service Request Log and coordinate DIY tasks with department managers. Collaborate with the Facilities & Security Team Leader to arrange contractor work for larger tasks. Assist with repairs and upkeep (e.g., taps, toilets, showers, general fixtures, minor electrical fixes, painting, tiling, and more). Safety & Supervision: Monitor and support visiting contractors, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and RAMS. Provide regular feedback to the Facilities Manager on any issues encountered during tasks. Administrative & Emergency Duties: Order necessary parts and equipment; perform monthly meter readings and manage waste collection arrangements. Respond to emergencies (e.g., plumbing issues, water leaks, power outages) and coordinate contractor intervention when needed. Project Support: Assist with larger facilities projects alongside the Facilities Manager and department teams. Requirements: Hands-on experience in facilities maintenance with a strong background in plumbing and electrical systems. Proven ability to manage small building projects (administrative support provided). Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in MS Office. Physically fit and able to work at height, lift heavy objects, and perform manual tasks. Essential: Valid driving licence and own vehicle for site travel
