Tezlom is currently recruiting for this exciting opportunity for a Healthcare/Activities Assistant for our client based in Pinner, London As an Activities HCA you'll support residents' well-being by facilitating engaging activities, promoting social interaction, and ensuring their comfort and safety, while also assisting with basic care tasks as needed\nPosition: HCA/Activities Assistant\nService: Nursing Home (62 Beds)\nLocation: Pinner, London (HA5)\nJob Type: Permanent\nHrs per Week: 37.5hrs\nKey Responsibilities:\n * Assisting with Activity Planning and Facilitation:\n * Assist the Activities Coordinator with developing and implementing activity schedules that cater to residents' interests and needs.\n * Assist with organizing a variety of activities, including games, outings, crafts, music, and social gatherings.\n * Resident Interaction and Support:\n * Encourage residents to participate in activities and social interactions.\n * Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.\n * Assist residents with mobility, personal care, and other basic needs as required.\n * Basic Care Tasks:\n * Assisting with personal care tasks such as dressing, bathing, and toileting.\n * Helping residents with mobility, including walking and transfers.\n * Serving meals and assisting with feeding.\n * Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.\n * Documentation and Communication:\n * Maintain accurate records of residents' participation in activities and their progress.\n * Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals and staff members about residents' needs and preferences.\n * Report any concerns or changes in residents' conditions or behaviour.\n * Teamwork and Collaboration:\n * Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, and therapists, to provide holistic care.\n * Participate in team meetings and staff training sessions.\nSkills and Qualities:\n * Empathy and Compassion: A genuine care for the well-being of others is essential.\n * Experience: In a similar role is essential\n * Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.\n * Organizational Skills: Ability to plan, organize, and manage activities effectively.\n * Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport and engage with residents of diverse backgrounds and abilities.\n * Physical Stamina: Ability to assist residents with mobility and other basic care tasks.\n * Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and address issues that arise during activities or care
