We have an opportunity for an experienced Distribution Centre Manager to develop the distribution centre space and processes so that the team deliver outstanding customer service, whilst optimising associated costs. This is a pivotal role in coordinating a complex portfolio of customer products with high levels of engineering development. Strong coordination, influencing and negotiating skills are a must alongside demonstrated distribution centre management capability. Key responsibilities: Manage goods receiving processes to ensure parts are available for picking within the agreed timescales. Manage picks to production and for customer demand in line with expected delivery dates. Ensure stock by location is accurate. Manage returns in line with agreed timescales so product is made available for picking or disposal. If needed, manage replenishment cycles so goods are available in the primary pick face. Derive labour and space requirements to support inventory and activity levels predicted. Manage and coach a team to deliver high levels of performance and development for the individuals. Lead and drive a culture of safe working. Performance metrics for the role will include: Inventory Record Accuracy (count accuracy) greater than 98% OTIFNE from stock location to next customer (including picking accuracy) OTIFNE from Prodrive to the customer (including transit damage) HSE incidents, age without investigation or corrective action being put in place Who are we looking for? Our ideal candidate will have experience of managing a distribution centre and coaching and managing a distribution centre team, labour planning and budgeting in an environment of driving excellent customer service. You will have strong mathematical skills that may be demonstrated through a science, engineering or mathematical degree, A-level achievement or apprenticeship. Commercially and financially astute (with particular emphasis on operational costs), you will have strong management and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate across every level of the business. An understanding of ERP systems and the ability to define and generate reports and metric dashboards is essential. IFS knowledge is particularly desirable. What can we offer you?
