Speech and Language Therapist SEN School ASAP Start
Role: Paediatric Band 5
Location: SEN School, Redbridge
Salary: £25,384 (actual pro-rota salary) FTE £29,969
Contract: Full Time, Permanent (45 weeks per year)

Our Special School provides top-tier education for children and young people (ages 4-25) with Autism, Downs Syndrome, Learning Difficulties, Global Learning Delay, and Complex Needs.
We are seeking a dedicated Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) who is passionate about integrated working and supporting children with additional needs within an educational setting. This role will be based at our main school site, supporting and working with our pupils from Early Years up to KS5.
You would be working as part of a wider therapy team, which already includes two other Speech and Language Therapists, so the successful candidate would be very well supported!
Key Responsibilities
1. Independently manage a caseload of children with complex developmental speech and language disorders, learning difficulties, and sensory impairments.
2. Work collaboratively with education staff and the multi-disciplinary team to deliver a holistic service to children with sensory impairments.
3. Utilise comprehensive assessments to form diagnoses and plan interventions. Deliver SLT interventions at school, home, or clinic as needed.
4. Liaise with families to clarify roles, provide knowledge, and support parents in understanding and aiding their child's communication needs.
5. Engage in ongoing CPD, with access to a protected training budget, and contribute to training programs for families and staff.
6. Support service improvements through audit and research and help implement clinical protocols.
Requirements
1. Must have a recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy, HCPC registered, and member of RCSLT.
2. Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
3. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
