The Role
Reporting to the Head of People Operations, our People Operations Manager plays a critical role in achieving our objective of creating an amazing employee experience.
You are passionate about working in HR and leading a team of 6 people, consisting of 4 People Administrators, Data and Systems Analyst and an international HR Advisor. This is a busy, fast paced department at the heart of the People team; ensuring productivity, quality and SLA measures are maintained.
You’ll collaborate regularly with our wider People Team as well as a variety of stakeholders from across the whole business. You’ll be tenacious with understanding and managing our systems; happy to get hands on problem solving and streamlining people processes which help create positive, engaged and highly effective teams.
You Will
1. Use your broader HR experience and knowledge to review our global processes and practices with employee experience, compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness in mind, developing your team to do the same.
2. Undertake all aspects of team leadership and take a coaching approach to develop your team’s potential with service excellence at its core– help them play to their strengths so they can progress.
3. Be responsible for the delivery of all day-to-day aspects of the People Operations service including people administration, people system maintenance and master data management.
4. Initiate a project with to establish the team as the first point of contact for all HR queries and work to build processes, knowledge guides and practical skills within the team to handle such generalist and ER based queries. Engage with the business in small listening groups to understand their challenges and how we can better support them.
5. Establish and embed a People Policy steering committee to ensure legislative updates are always captured as well as ensuring policies reflect Superdry values and behaviours. This can also be a forum where policy gaps are identified, and new policies proposed.
6. Gain an understanding how all our People systems work and integrate with our HRIS, to work with our People Data & Systems Administrator, ensuring they are fit for purpose, and are making everyone’s working lives more effective and efficient.
7. Play an integral part in the wider People team with special projects and requests.
8. Work across the People team and the business to establish and promote a culture of self-service seeking advancements to the self service offering and processes. Exploring where technology and AI could play a part in this.
9. Assist with internal and external audit project requests.
10. Make data-driven decisions related to the services provided by your team including identification of areas for improvement and demonstrating the impact of services provided.
11. Role model a continuous improvement mindset with employee experience at the forefront, ensuring opportunities for efficiencies are continually identified and actioned
You Are
12. Experienced in previous HR roles which include exposure to employee relations, working closely with HR systems and people data.
13. Curious and happy to get hands on - so you need to have a genuine excitement and passion for people operations, with experience of breaking down processes/problems and identifying opportunities to deliver business improvements at local, regional and global levels.
14. Comfortable with discussing compliance, with a good working knowledge of UK employment laws, any knowledge of international employment laws would also be beneficial but is not required.
15. Ready to lead a team- with strong coaching and leadership skills.
16. Capable of managing and delivering a high volume of work at pace - keeping calm under pressure and errors to a minimum.
17. Able to take responsibility and ownership for your workload – being proactive and confident to use your own initiative and see things through to completion.
18. Friendly and engaging with the ability to build collaborative, trustworthy relationships across a global team.
19. Confident with handling confidential information and understanding the importance of data protection.
20. Happy to role model the best use of Microsoft Office – Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
