Consumer & Wealth Management Division: Across Consumer and Wealth Management (CWM), Goldman Sachs helps empower clients and customers around the world reach their financial goals. The Private Wealth management (PWM) business under Consumer Wealth Management division provides comprehensive Investment Management services and advice across a full-range of asset classes for very high net worth individuals. PWM leverages a global technology platform offering, an integrated suite of tools, and applications to service clients. This platform helps realize a client's goals and objectives, develops and implements an integrated wealth management plan and delivers first-class client service. Wealth Management Engineering Team: We are looking for someone to join the Wealth Management Engineering team within CWM. We are a primarily UK based team bringing together software engineers with diverse backgrounds and a broad set of skills. We believe in being technologically nimble and able to apply ourselves anywhere opportunities arise, meaning we get involved in any number of projects across the CWM businesses. We are hugely collaborative. We work with other engineering teams and business leaders to develop solutions that are used globally. We invest in and grow our people. We believe in a strong work ethic, supported by flexibility The landscape is continually changing and we have a diverse pipeline of future projects. Some of the immediate areas we would expect new joiners to work on are: Building out a new digital content generation platform that pulls in data/analytics and allows our wealth advisors to generate analysis/reports/presentations that can be used to drive conversations and pitches to potential and existing clients. Automated trading platforms. Helping to grow the recently launched Marcus Invest business by building out new features and optimizing/scaling the platform as the Goldman Sachs consumer base grows. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for someone who is a self-starter and able to pickup new codebases/technologies quickly. Strong core development skills in a major language. Understanding of how to use and where to apply common design patterns and data structures. Strong attention to detail and ability to write clean, performant, testable and resilient code. Good understanding of full stack applications and an ability to debug/problem solve anywhere in the stack. Analytical skills to perform technical and functional analysis with strong communication skills. 3 years experience with backend technologies. Additional Technical Experience: We use a broad set of technologies today and who knows what we'll use in the future. If you already have experience in some of the below areas that would certainly be be advantageous - but don't worry if not. Microservices, Message based architectures, Domain Driven Design React/Angular/HTML5/JS/ES NoSQL Databases (E.g. MongoDB), Relational Databases Spring, Rx, VertX, Jersey, Guava Kafka, Elastic, Kibana Unit testing and test automation frameworks Developing in a Linux/Cloud based environment Know your way around the terminal Version control i.e. Git Most of all we would like someone who has a desire to be a strong all-round engineer with the aptitude to pickup technologies and apply them to real-world problems in an intelligent and considered way. Additional Industry Experience: Prior experience in finance would be advantageous but is not essential. We will help you build an excellent understanding of our domain.
