This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, emails etc. in an accurate and quality manner. Communicate, including verbally with patients, other agencies, other primary and secondary health care teams, and practice staff, receiving and relaying messages in a courteous and efficient manner, deciding upon the most appropriate course of action and pathways Establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure. Retrieve medical records and assist the completion of medical/insurance reports and records. Work collaboratively with the Finance Team to raise invoice requests where appropriate File patient records and correspondence in patient medical records Receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries, including follow appointments and clinic letters Ensure all referral forms within the clinical system are accurate and the most current version Read code clinical letters and referrals according to Practice protocol Keep up to date with local pathways for referrals and use appropriate referral tools Maintain smooth running of e-referrals data, advice and guidance and two week wait referrals Assist with the gathering of statistics via audit and information when required Generate mail merges for patient letters Monitor all e-referrals to ensure accurate and timely appointments are initiated Expedite appointments/tests as required Liaise with colleagues to ensure that adequate service provision is always maintained and provide relief cover as and when required Type protocols and procedures Process new patient registrations Maintain the registration links to ensure they are up to date Send post-natal letters to patients Complete safeguarding reports on behalf of the GPs Deal with queries sent through System Connect and action INR results to ensure regular blood monitoring tests are maintained and schedules communicated directly to patients To attend meetings as and when required.
