T his is an exciting role to assist the Gallery Manager in the development, installation, and delivery of the gallery programme. Maintaining excellent standards of presentation and visitor experience in our Art Gallery and Design Shop. Working alongside your team of colleagues you will engage with our customers and showcase our unique offer from the exceptional artists and makers that we work with. Using your warm and friendly personality you will use your passion for delivering exceptional customer service to ensure our customers are given a memorable experience every time they stop with us. The role will involve Day to day running of the gallery desk, opening and closing the exhibition and giving our visitors great customer service as well as m aintaining excellent standards of presentation and visitor experience for all our customer types by ensuring day to day procedures are followed. Selling artwork and logging sales on to a spreadsheet with great attention to detail and accuracy. Display stock to our creative merchandising standards maintaining presentation and cleanliness standards throughout the day’s trade. Support with exhibition research and development and administration; uploading images, filing submission forms, creating selling sheets for exhibitions, listing shop stock and requesting and printing barcodes. Replying to emails, enquiries, and liaising with artists. Managing gallery databases, i ncluding, tracking footfall, environmental data and collecting customer data. High quality production and execution of exhibitions; being very hands on during exhibition installations and art handling. Supporting other art projects within the building. Maintaining accurate gallery inventories for equipment and artworks in storage. About You We are looking for someone who is: Confident in using microsoft packages including excel and outlook Able to assist with taking down and installing exhibitions; confident using tools, ladders, and working at heights, able to lift and move about whilst working as part of a team. Able to load and unload exhibitions onto transport. Art handling training will be given. Able to work quickly to meet key dates & deadlines. Available to assist running evening previews. (3 or 4 a year) AV & sound knowledge would be an advantage but is not essential.
