Our client is looking for a Fire Engineer to join their independent Consultancy specialising in Fire Safety and Engineering Services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a wide range of sectors including commercial, industrial, nuclear, and many more.
Responsibilities:
* Provide fire safety advice in the nuclear sector and in a conventional environment.
* Implement the principles of fire science to real projects.
* Manage fire safety on construction sites.
* Develop fire strategies and performance-based designs, supported by fire and evacuation modelling, risk analysis, and cost-benefit analysis.
* Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders.
* Produce fire safety engineering reports.
* Review design information such as drawings and documents.
* Ensure work is compliant with client expectations and contractual obligations.
* Resolve fire engineering concerns by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards.
* Support junior members of staff.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Engineering (Fire, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or similar).
* Full UK Driving License.
* Computer Literate (e.g., Blue Beam, Microsoft, CAD, Smoke modelling software).
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
* Ability to travel within the UK and Overseas.
* Knowledge of legislation, regulations, national and international standards.
* Knowledge of Fire Water Network and Fire water pumping systems including fire water pumps, storage tanks, etc.
* Qualifications paid (e.g., Institution of Fire Engineers or National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)).
