Are you looking for the flexibility of working nights while supporting vulnerable people in Bristol? We have a Night Worker opportunity available at our Longhills complex needs hostel, which provides level 1 accommodation and housing related support for vulnerable adults. In the role of Night Worker, you will provide vital support and assistance to clients at night, be available to listen and deal with people’s individual needs as they arise. You will be comfortable as a lone worker and develop a good knowledge of relevant protocols and safety precautions so that you can appropriately deal with emergency situations that arise during your shift alongside hourly building checks, monitoring issues like noise in the locality and within the building and carrying out relevant administrative tasks. We will provide you with training and development to ensure you feel confident to carry out these duties. Flexibility is required in these roles as you’ll be working a night shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays, however working in a night shift role can provide people with the flexibility other roles don’t. You will typically work on a rolling 4 week rota, with shifts from 9pm - 7.30am. About you These roles will suit people with good communication skills with the ability to respond and interact effectively, if you have the ability to empathise with others and have the willingness to learn how to support people to transform their lives, we encourage you to apply. You should be able to demonstrate: An understanding of the issues that affect homeless or vulnerable adults and some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or clients or customers in a busy service environment. The ability to be reliable, awake and alert during your shift and be able to stay calm and use your initiative in the event of an emergency and have experience of following administrative procedures and maintaining clear and accurate records.
