Directorate: Public Health Protection and Wellbeing Section: Bereavement Care Service Location: Carmountside Cemetery & Crematorium Grade: Level 5 Actual Salary: £25,584 - £27,711 Hours: 37 This advert is open to both Internal and External applicants. Stoke on Trent Bereavement Care Service are looking for a highly motivated Cemetery Operative with a background in grounds maintenance provision. The successful candidate will be responsible for high standards of grounds maintenance in the city cemeteries. Duties will include grave excavation, preparation and backfilling and general grounds maintenance duties including grass cutting, hedge management, ornamental planting, plant and shrub care. Normal working hours are Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm and Friday 8am - 3.30pm with the potential for overtime beyond these hours. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide on call cover for the Saturday same day burial service. A full driving licence is required, experience of a similar position and competency in the use of gardening machinery.
