We have exciting opportunities for people to apply for part-time roles as a Youth Workers at our Youth Hubs across East Sussex.
Roles Available:
1. 1x Youth Worker,Funky Teens (Alternate Saturdays), 2 hours per week
2. 2X Youth Worker, Willingdon Trees (Thursday), 3 hours per week
What is a Youth Worker?
As youth workers, we nurture and support the young people we work with so they can learn to make informed choices; we teach empowerment and equality, helping the young people have a voice, build positive relationships, and reach their full potential.
As a Youth Worker, you will support the Leader in Charge in the operation and running of the session, engaging young people in the community, offering support, advice, and guidance, as well as handling any safeguarding concerns as a team.
Join us in supporting young people as they navigate the challenges and changes of society and themselves while transitioning from childhood to adulthood.
Training and career progression:
Successful applicants will receive a full induction and training to support all aspects of their roles with ongoing support from their manager and colleagues.
Starting as a youth worker can pave the way for opportunities within keywork and social work, should the successful applicant seek full-time employment.
About the sessions:
We deliver sessions for young people aged 8 to 19 (up to 25 years for young people with SEN).
3. Funky Teens is an SEN-inclusive group for young people with mild to moderate learning needs. It aims to develop their social and life skills.
4. Willingdon Trees sessions are open-mixed groups where young people can socialise and develop their life skills through fun activities.
We are looking for people who have:
5. Interpersonal skills with the ability to be sensitive to the needs of young people and can relate to them at a meaningful level
6. Ability to design and deliver activities with and for young people
7. Ability to plan and deliver specific projects to engage young people
