The successful candidate will provide tailored support to young people participating in Skills for Life and Work, Training for Success, and/or Apprenticeships NI programmes. This role is designed to help students with learning disabilities engage with their learning and achieve their educational goals. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialist support to young people, adapting sessions to meet individual needs as agreed with the Disability Support Services (DSS) Coordinator Prepare resources and materials in advance to ensure effective delivery of support Assist the DSS Coordinator with tracking and evidencing the progress of learners against set targets Complete weekly and monthly engagement records to update the DSS Coordinator on students' progress Motivate and support learners, encouraging independent learning strategies to increase motivation, self-esteem, and engagement Maintain confidential records and ensure all internal documentation is processed efficiently Adapt to changing circumstances and undertake additional duties as required by the Line Manager Essential Criteria: A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths At least 1 year of experience supporting people with learning disabilities, in a group or one-to-one setting Strong mentoring and motivational skills to encourage positive learner outcomes Ability to work flexibly, with occasional evening and weekend shifts Administrative skills with good record-keeping abilities Proficiency in IT, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and social media Knowledge of statutory services and legislation, especially child protection and safeguarding Understanding of the barriers faced by individuals with learning disabilities Full, current driving licence and access to a car Desirable Criteria: Previous experience in a learning environment Level 3 Qualification (e.g., in Learning Support or related field) Other Information: Successful applicants will be required to undertake an Access NI Disclosure check (£16/£32) A person's criminal record will not automatically disqualify them from this role, and all information will be treated with the strictest confidentiality How to Apply: If you are passionate about supporting young people with learning disabilities and meet the criteria, we would love to hear from you.
