Job Overview
Manchester Royal Infirmary is looking for enthusiastic radiographers to work in MR scanning. You should have proven basic MRI imaging skills and the ability to work fixed days in 13-hour shifts. If you have a proven aptitude for MRI and would like the opportunity to expand your clinical scanning skills, then we can offer the successful candidate exposure to high-level, complex scanning techniques.
Main Duties of the Job
Training will be provided in advanced aspects of MR scanning. Successful applicants will form part of the MR scanning team and will be expected to work closely with colleagues in a busy and challenging environment. We use a Siemens Aera 1.5T wide bore scanner, a GE Signa 1.5T which is due to be replaced, and we also run lists on the University of Manchester's 3T GE PETMR scanner.
We undertake a wide range of examinations, including vascular, gynaecological, GU, gastro, neurological, and musculoskeletal. We have recently introduced an MR Cardiac service and look forward to providing necessary training in the area if needed. Training will be given for more complex or department-specific scans. You will also gain experience in scanning patients with pacemakers and cochlear implants.
