Learning Support Assistant - SEMH
Pay: £13.75 per hour

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work with our SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health) schools in Portsmouth.
Most pupils in attendance have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and present with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting these pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping them to access the curriculum, develop life skills, and build confidence.

* Full time role, Monday to Friday during term time.
* Temporary position with the opportunity to transition to a school contract.

Requirements:
* Experience supporting children or young people with ASC/SEMH is highly desirable
* Strong behaviour management skills
* A Child workforce DBS on the update service is preferred, or a willingness to apply for one
* Calm, patient and empathetic approach while displaying resilience
* Team player with a genuine passion for supporting learners with additional needs
* Commitment to maintaining safeguarding protocols at all times.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
