Personal Welfare Support Assistant Vacancy – Term Time Only (25 hours per week). Grade 2 SCP3 - £24,027 (actual salary £14,026) Our welcoming and growing village school is looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active and committed Personal Welfare Support Assistant to join our team. The vacancy is to support a child in EYFS and is for 25 hours a week. The position is available whilst the child attends our school. Although this is expected to be for at least a year, it is likely to be extended subject to funding. Please see the attached Job Profile sheet for more details on the role. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate: A caring and patient personality with an empathetic approach to the needs of the child. A positive attitude towards supporting and interacting with a pupil who has autism. The ability to communicate with staff and contribute to the planned support for the pupil. An ability to work within a team but also using their initiative when supporting the learning of the pupil in their care. Alongside other members of staff, to provide personal care to the pupil. A knowledge and understanding of the condition of autism and how it affects a child’s communication and interaction skills would be helpful.
