What skills and experience we're looking for
Underwood West Academy (part of the Aspire Educational Trust) has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the school in January 2025. This position is permanent, working 32.5 hours per week (08:30 – 15:30) over 39 weeks per year.
The successful candidate will become part of our inclusive school where we promote positive attitudes, good behaviour and moral understanding. All children are nurtured to establish a sense of pride and achievement in learning and being part of our school community whilst becoming happy, confident and resilient learners, each supported to reach their unique potential in a safe environment.

• Be dedicated, resilient and enthusiastic with a passion for providing an exciting and positive learning experience and outcomes for all
• Have experience of effectively delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
• Experience of covering a whole class to deliver teaching sessions
• Have strong classroom presence
• Holds GCSE Grade 5 in both English and Math’s, alongside an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Level 3 qualification.
• You will also be willing to complete further qualifications in Paediatric First Aid and Fire Warden training.
