About The Opportunity To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we currently have an opportunity for a Principal Engineering Hydrogeologist within our Tunnels and Ground Engineering team in the UK. The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities. Providing specialist engineering Hydrogeological support your remit in this role will include: • Supporting excavation dewatering projects, tunnelling projects and assessments for large scale infrastructure projects • Scoping, supervising and interpretation of ground investigations to support engineering design • Producing and Interpreting groundwater reports to support underground structures design, groundwater management and hydro-geomechanical behaviour assessment. • Working in collaborative multidisciplinary teams. • Promoting the consideration of engineering hydrogeology to foster innovative project solutions. • Liaison with contractors, laboratories and regulators. We would be delighted to hear from candidates with a blend of the following; • Honours degree in earth sciences, or equivalent • Chartered with the ICE or Geological Society (or similar) • Demonstratable track record of technical delivery of engineering hydrogeology projects. • Experience of groundwater site characterisation, site investigation supervision and quantitative groundwater assessments • Exposure to supervising in situ testing including variable head tests, packer tests, pumping tests etc. • Experience in specifying and supervising the installation of groundwater monitoring instrumentation. • A sound knowledge of numerical modelling (such as SEEP/W and/or Groundwater Vistas and/or other similar software) The role will require you to work away from your base office from time to time.
