Job Title: Skilled Operative Location: Hereford Business Function: Production Role Level: Operative Status: Permanent Role Purpose: Join our dynamic steel fabrication team at VGC as a Skilled Operative. You will be responsible for operating both CNC and manual machinery safely and efficiently to meet production demands. Key Responsibilities: Operate CNC and manual equipment to fabricate steelwork. Work collaboratively within the Fabrication, Bundling & Overhead Line Stores area. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to risk assessments and work instructions. Produce high-quality products in line with our Quality Management System. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help reduce waste. Perform general duties to support all operations as required. Essential Qualities & Experience: Positive and enthusiastic attitude with a 'can do' approach. Reliable and supportive of a continuous improvement culture. Willingness to learn and embrace new ideas. Ability to work as part of a team and be self-motivated. Proficiency with air and electric hand tools, grinders, etc. Ability to read drawings and complete relevant documentation. Good understanding of Health and Safety practices. Desirable Qualities & Experience: Experience in a steel fabrication environment. Experience with CNC/manual machinery. Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, and telehandlers. Improvement in output and efficiency Based in Hereford remuneration for this role is £15 per hour, you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
