Job Overview
NES Fircroft is seeking a highly skilled Instrument Systems Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen. As a key member of the operations site-based team, you will provide front-line support and technical discipline input to projects.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute improvement plans for instrument and protective systems.
* Act as asset IPS engineering focal point for site projects, including studies.
* Lead discipline improvements in plant reliability, equipment strategy, defect elimination, and equipment rationalization.
* Define and own the asset's IPS spares strategy.
* Lead discipline improvements in plant reliability, root cause analysis, defect elimination, and continuous improvement.
* Lead/contribute to safety reviews, risk assessments, and investigations as the instrumentation and protective systems engineering focal point.
* Act as custodian of asset maintenance strategies for IPS equipment.
* Support the maintenance team regarding equipment breakdown; including investigation of fault, defect resolution, and execution of breakdown maintenance.
* Monitor and advise on the technical and safety implications of any maintenance backlog.
* Act as custodian of key IPS engineering documentation, including control philosophies, cause and effect diagrams, hazardous area drawings, loop diagrams, trip and alarms registers, alarm response manual, ensuring same are kept up-to-date.
* Provide technical support to asset TAR activities.
* Cochain asset instrument technicians to ensure their competency and skills are continuously improved.
* Participation in incident management team.
* Travel to offshore platforms or remote on-shore sites to provide technical support.
* Support planned and unplanned outages.
* Participation in the asset self-audit program.
