We have an exciting opportunity for a number of Real Time Validation & Reporting Analyst's to join us in the Central Control Team and be a part of helping us to ensure accuracy in our Storm Overflow Map. Could this be you?
What we do:
Everyone has an idea of what a water company does. Here in Yorkshire, we make sure that over 5.4 million people living in the region and the millions of people who visit our region each year, can rely on our services, and have clean and safe drinking water on tap and that their wastewater is taken away. But for us, it’s so much more than this.
We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan to look after Yorkshire’s water, today, tomorrow 24/7, 365 days a year. We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, and play a key role in the region’s health, wellbeing, and prosperity.
New environmental legislation, unprecedented levels of investment and changing expectations from customers means that this is an exciting time to discover opportunities within the water industry.
Where you fit in?
You will work within the Central Control team and play a key role in ensuring accuracy in our Storm Overflow Map. This is an interactive map which lets us know if our storm overflows are operating on our waste water systems. This will provide real-time data linked to new focus on regulatory requirements such as PFF, dry day spills and all spill verification for Annual Performance Reporting. All of which will support the pollution improvement plan, manage reputational risk and help the policy and assurance team in River Health with additional real time reporting.
You will be responsible for administering the Storm Overflow Map, ensuring that monitoring equipment is performing satisfactorily and demonstrating an accurate picture of asset performance. This will include raising remedial work for monitoring equipment or ensuring Waste Operatives address issues.
You will work closely with our River Health team to provide support with regulatory reporting requirements and collating, reporting and ensuring the appropriate commentary (reasons for missing data and corrective actions) is available for the annual data submission to the Environment Agency.
You will have two key accountabilities: Real-time validation (focusing on the maintenance and accuracy of the storm overflow (EDM) map) and Real-time reporting (providing regulatory reporting support to River Health for waste compliance).
What skills & qualifications are we looking for?
* Understanding of the Wastewater system
* Able to demonstrate proven analytical skills, highly developed skills in accessing data from other corporate systems including Odyssey, SAP, SAP/WMS2, AI2, EDMS Asset Inventory, RTS, ROD, etc.
* Database and Spreadsheet expertise
* Advanced data handling and reporting skills
* Ability to formulate and present proposals
* Effective communication skills, an empathetic attitude
* Ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships
* Logical, methodical and able to think around problems
* Commitment and flexibility is key, along with the ability to cope under pressure, calmly and rationally in a sometimes stressful environment
* A team player – someone who supports colleagues and works with others to achieve the best outcome. Values the input of colleagues
* Diligent and strong attention to detail
* Proven track record of interpreting / compiling and data analysis is essential
* User of Microsoft Office Excel in addition to Word and PowerPoint.
Although we operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, it’s really important to us that we support flexible working patterns and job share options (when we can), to help you make the best of both your work and home life. We know that juggling childcare responsibilities or getting that ideal work/life balance isn’t always easy!
